Adventure Travel Networking (ATN23) To Return As Hybrid Event Next Month

BY James Chapple

News Editor - TTG Media Ltd

The Adventure Travel Networking Conference & Marketplace event (ATN23) will return next month in a two-day hybrid format featuring a virtual supplier and buyer marketplace, and then an in-person conference and networking event a couple of days later.

Over the two days, the event will allow travel professional and businesses in the adventure space to network, assess the state of the market, and learn about topics and trends ranging from sustainability developments to deploying AI.

There will also be an address from B Lab UK on the scheme and why B Corp is particularly relevant to adventure travel businesses, as well as a dedicated session on adventure travel market insights and travel trends.

The supplier and buyer marketplace will be held on 21 February and will remain a purely virtual event to ensure it is "inclusive and affordable" for the trade, and help all attendees get the most out of the gathering.

Suppliers and buyers can register for the marketplace now. "We are still welcoming both suppliers and buyers," said Pru Goudie, founder and director of the event.

The in-person conference and networking event, meanwhile, will be held at the Little Ship Club in London, overlooking the Thames, on 23 February. Tickets are available now. There will also be a digital component for those unable to attend in person.

All delegates will receive a UK-made filter water bottle from Water-To-Go, made out of sugar cane, to promote reusables. TTG Media will once again be ATN media partner.

“The most recent ATN ’confidence tracker’ survey highlighted how the appetite for adventure and experiential travel with a positive impact continues to increase," said Goudie. "Brits are on the move, and it appears there’s enough pent-up demand to weather almost any economic storm in 2023."

Topics set to be placed in the spotlight at the conference include:

  • 2023 market insights and adventure travel trends;

  • How to use Artificial Intelligence in adventure travel;

  • The B Corp journey – answering the hows, whats and whys;

  • Pricing and surcharging;

  • Driving community value;

  • Net-zero – what will it look like?;

  • Selling abroad – what you need to know; and

  • Working with the media

"Many companies are currently aiming for B Corp certification, the ultimate achievement for businesses committed to environmental and social integrity, so we are delighted someone from B Lab UK will be presenting to us at the conference” added Goudie.

"Likewise, technology was a highly requested topic by the ATN community for 2023. Adventure travel has both threats and opportunities from Artificial Intelligence, which need to be understood, so I’m thrilled to welcome Peter Symes to talk to us about AI."

ATN attracts up to 250 UK adventure tour operators, overseas suppliers, DMCs, destinations, emerging markets, unique accommodation providers, trade associations, industry speakers and travel media outlets.
