Who we are

Adventure Travel Networking (ATN) was created to serve the trade and promote adventure and experiential travel through the various events we organise. We are a small bunch of enthusiastic adventurers with many years of travel and events experience between us and an in depth understanding of the UK adventure travel sector. ATN is 'for the trade, by the trade' and we welcome all input from the many industry stakeholders who are all eager to have their say!

The Organiser

Pru Goudie, ATN founder

What I do:
28+ years of working in the adventure travel sector and I am passionate about adventure and experiential travel done with purpose. Having worked across sales, marketing, PR, events and general management I combined all my skills and founded Adventure Travel Networking (ATN) in January 2020. It has been the biggest learning experience of my career, amazing and empowering at the same time and with the incredible support of the travel trade we have organised two well attended and highly successful ATN Conference & Marketplace events in 2021 & 2022! We are on track to deliver an even bigger and better ATN23 conference & marketplace
event in February as well as our two ATN Media Meetup events in spring and autumn.

When I'm not working:
You can find me either planning my next adventure, sipping wine, watching rugby, cooking for friends, or all four!

The Moderator

Jono Vernon-Powell

What I do:
Having founded the award-winning travel company Nomadic Thoughts (Worldwide Travel) 35 years ago, I continue to thrill in arranging travel for clients across the globe. Forever embracing the challenges associated with keeping a handle on the fast-moving adventure travel market. In addition to moderating previous ATN Conferences, with a high sustainable-travel focus, I am hugely appreciative of the considerable knowledge, expertise & experience so many fellow travel colleagues bring to ATN events.

When I'm not working:
I am a traveller, blogger, photographer, wannabe yogi and active sportsman who remains available for international selection.

The Producer

David Howard

What I do:
As the Director of Production Values, I’ve worked in the travel sector for many years and have managed the production, creative concepts and running order of the ATN conference for two years, soon to be three! I produce video, events, conferences, business television, training programmes and occasionally gigs and festivals! I should use this opportunity to tell you how fantastic and cutting-edge and unique I am, but being naturally modest I will leave all that stuff to some of the wonderful people that I have had the privilege to work for and with over the past 25 years!

When I'm not working:
You can find me either at a music gig, in my man cave, cooking up a storm inspired by some fine red wine or on my travels!

The Tech Supporter

Emily Bailey

What I do:
15+ years in the travel industry with a focus on adventure and sustainable tourism. I have worked for well known travel brands in sales and product. I'm currently completing an MSc Tourism and plan to be a sustainable tourism consultant very soon! I love process, so my role at ATN is to ensure everything on the event platform and in the background is in place before the conference. Adventure travel is my passion and ATN is the perfect place to further discussions on how we can make travel better for the planet.

When I'm not working:
I am swimming in The Thames, walking through the Chilterns, on a family adventure or have my head down in a dissertation!

The Advisor

John Telfer

What I do:
Bringing the experience of the best part of 4 decades in the travel  industry, I advise, support and challenge ATN to make it as relevant as possible to tour operators and DMCs. Over the years I  have had the good fortune to have visited over 100 countries through the lens of having a deep professional interest in sustainability, risk management, product development and aviation, along with all the commercial aspects of running a business.  Currently a non-executive director for Hotelplan UK I also advise a number of travel companies and organisations, as well as working with Surrey University School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

When I'm not working:
Walking randomly across the South of England, learning to cook (thank you Guosto) and not so quietly despairing at UK politics.
