The Adventure Travel Networking Conference and Marketplace is to return as a “hybrid” event in February 2022, combining both in-person and virtual elements.

ADVENTURE TRAVEL CONFERENCE TO RETURN AS ‘HYBRID’ EVENT IN 2022 TTG will be the trade media partner for the ATN22 event, which will include an “in-person” conference and networking drinks reception on 4 February at a central London venue, with a “live” digital component running alongside the physical event for those unable to attend. The supplier and buyer marketplace on 3 February will remain a purely virtual event because it was “more inclusive and affordable for the trade” and “offers a guaranteed event that works for all participants”. Pru Goudie, founder and director of the event, said: “Pent-up travel demand is hardening among UK adventurers. “This group of travellers are the innovators and early adopters, and they will drive the recovery of the market as they seek out destinations they perceive to be safe with enhanced sustainable practices, outdoor activities and life-changing experiences.”

Topics under the spotlight at the conference will include consumer insights, future trends, carbon labelling, “green washing”, effective travel risk management, destination recovery, domestic adventure tourism and marketing tips.

Organisers have decided to make the in-person conference on 4 February invitation-only due to capacity restraints. The Conference will take place at South Africa House, Trafalgar Square in Central London.

Tickets to the virtual conference are available from the Adventure Travel Networking website and the marketplace is still accepting exhibitors and buyers.

Earlier this year, more than 200 trade members attended the virtual ATN21 event featuring more than 25 speakers and nearly 200 meetings between suppliers and buyers.

The event will also support two charities: The Derek Moore Foundation and the World Female Ranger Day.

Destination Partners for ATN22 include Headline Partner South African Tourism, with other Destination Partners including Costa Rica Tourism, Visit Rwanda, New York State, Uganda Tourism Board, Belize Tourism Board, Israel Tourism Office, Saudi Tourism Authority, Visit Portugal, Austrian National Tourist Office, Korea Tourism Organisation, PROMPERU, Visit Finland and Tourism Western Australia.
