ATN 2020 NEWS
Providing a platform for tourism to acknowledge the problems it faces and help find solutions

With much of the travel industry reeling from the effects of Covid-19, now more than ever the adventure travel industry needs a platform to network, forge valuable partnerships and engage in lively debates on the topics most affecting our corner of the market.

Following its postponement in May, ATN Conference & Marketplace will now be held on Friday 5 February 2021 at the Royal Geographical Society in London, providing the platform to help our industry rebuild and innovate, as it looks to rebound in 2021.

The well-being and security of all event delegates and partners will always be our first priority and as always we will continue to monitor and follow the advice of the FCO and all Government guidelines.

We look forward to welcoming you.

We are all in the business to promote adventure travel around the globe and it is clear that education, support for health facilities, the nurturing of traditional art, music and crafts and the promotion of sport are all key to improving and changing lives in disadvantaged communities. Whilst major charities do so much good on a wider scale, help is also needed for numerous smaller community projects.

Adventure Travel Networking (ATN) is immensely proud to be helping to change lives by supporting the Derek Moore Foundation this year and a percentage of the conference funds will be donated to this foundation, see more thederekmoorefoundation.org

Join the movement

Adventure Travel Networking has joined 'Tourism Declares' a new network of organisations, companies and individuals working in tourism to join other industries and regions in declaring a climate emergency. We commit to the following;

1. Help to publicly grow the movement

Adventure Travel Networking will organise a conference and marketplace, which will take place Friday 05 February 2021, where we will offer a platform to the Tourism Declares movement, inviting founding members involved to discuss and help educate the trade on how they can also be involved.

2. Work together

Adventure Travel Networking will encourage suppliers and partners participating in the conference and marketplace to make the same declaration; share best practice amongst peers; and actively participate in the Tourism Declares community.

3. Advocate for change

Recognise the need for system change across the industry, and call for urgent regulatory action to accelerate the transition towards zero carbon air travel.

4. Share our commitment

Working closely with our UK clients on PR and marketing activities, we will actively encourage them to make the same declaration. Some have already acted.

5. Help clients develop a 'Climate Emergency' plan and to cut carbon emissions

We pledge to work with our clients and conference participators to develop a climate emergency plan and to accept current IPCC advice stating the need to cut global carbon emissions to 55% below 2017 levels by 2030.
