About ATN22

The ATN Conference & Marketplace is a 2-day event that gathers the trade together to do business and debate the most pressing issues affecting this sector of the industry. Now considered the ‘ultimate currency’ adventure and experiential travel is core to the recovery of the industry in 2021/22.

This group of travellers are the innovators and early adopters and they will drive the recovery of the market as they seek destinations they perceive to be safe with enhanced sustainable practices, outdoor activities and life-changing experiences.

Marketplace Information

The Marketplace will remain virtual for 2022. 

Why?

It's more inclusive and affordable for the trade and whilst we are all still in this delicate time it offers a guaranteed event that works for all. The main supplier/buyer Marketplace day will be on Thursday 3rd February, however the supplier/buyer appointment platform will remain open longer over several days for multiple reasons:

 

  • It accommodates the many global time differences we are working with

  • It allows more time for suppliers and buyers to organised meetings 

  • It offers a better 'ease of time' for buyers/suppliers during a busy season


Traditionally February is a busy time of the year for UK Tour Operators and due to the pandemic many companies will be operating with a smaller number of staff in 2022.

 

Like all companies ATN have adapted to the current climate and for the above reasons it makes makes perfect sense to offer this extended Marketplace format for 2022.

Pre-scheduled meetings of 20-minutes will take place on Thursday 3rd February (official day) via the virtual platform allowing for a 5-minute break between each meeting. The marketplace will then open again the following week for 3 days to allow for more meetings as requested/accepted by participants. 

Conference Information

The Conference will be an in-person event held in central London on Friday 4th February with a live component running alongside for those who cannot attend in person. The venue is to be confirmed, but it will be central London. 

 

The conference agenda is currently being finalised by the ATN steering committee and will be published late November with the opportunity for delegates to purchase tickets. This is a conference for the trade by the trade, so consultation is currently in progress with the adventure travel community so that we deliver an agenda of content that is most relevant to that trade and one that benefits all.

A full conference will shortly be published and you can expect topics including: 

  • Consumer insights - adventure travel barometer; an update on the latest UK travel trends via our recent partner survey

  • Carbon Labelling; we examine a case study that looks at how to calculate, understand, share and reduce

  • Green washing, local washing; how to avoid it and make our companies more transparent and accountable

  • Effective travel risk management strategies, in order to help protect future travel

  • Destination recovery insights as we speak with many of our valuable ATN22 Destination partners

  • Marketing tips specific to adventure & experiential travel and how to regain the momentum lost during the pandemic

  • Adventure travel futurescoping, identify best practices and new opportunities that are relevant to your business

Due to capacity restrictions tickets for delegates to attend the conference in-person will be 'by invitation' only.

 

Delegates will be able to attend the conference virtually and tickets will be available for purchase shortly. 

Buyers/Suppliers

Registration forms will appear on the website shortly for buyers and suppliers to officially register. The quality of meetings is very important to both us as organisers and our marketplace participators and as such all buyers and suppliers will be qualified before they are confirmed Marketplace participants.

Who should attend?

Over 200 travel trade attended the ATN21 event and we are expecting this number to increase for ATN22.

 

The ATN Conference & Marketplace attracts a number of overseas DMCs, tour operators, unique accommodation providers, tourist boards, marketing & PR agencies, travel agents, service providers as well as a handful of media relevant to the adventure sector. Owners, product and operation directors, various senior management and decision makers will also attend.
